Wye Farmers Market is proud to announce that stallholders Mead Farm Cakes and Classic Preserves have both won awards in the Great Taste Awards.
Following on from their success year when they received a gold star for their Fruit Cake without alcohol, Mead Farm received a silver start for their Fruit Cake, with alcohol.
In their first year of entry Classic Preserves received a Silver Star for their Pear & Ginger Jam.
For such a small market Wye is particularly proud to have 2 stallholders who have done so well in such a prestigious national completion and feel that it shows all the more, the excellence of our local Kent produce and producers.

Stuart has 30 breeding sows, all Hampshire x Large White. They spend their entire lives outdoors, farrowing and rearing their young in Arks bedded with straw with plenty of space to roam in. No growth promoters are used in any of the feed.
The farm runs a 'closed herd', meaning no animals are bought in, to prevent the spread of disease. Fattened pigs travel just 20 minutes to be slaughtered and butchered, creating further local employment.
